VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 1) - When big money is on the line, Cayden Carter is the man to beat.

Already the winner of the Urbana 5 Memorial last month, Carter picked up $1,250 Sunday night in the KISS Country 96.5 IMCA Modifieds during Autism Awareness Night at Benton County Speedway.

From a second row start, Carter pursued Tommy Belmer and Chris Snyder at the onset of the 20-lapper before working his way into the lead.

Carter built a straightaway advantage while Troy Cordes raced the top side into second from a fourth row start. Cordes cut into the sizable deficit and was able to stick his nose to the inside of the race leader in the final set of turns, however Carter held on to take top honors. Dylan Thornton raced from the fifth row to finish third with Mark Schulte fourth and Jerry Dedrick fifth.

In addition to the pair of special shows Carter has won this season at The Bullring, he also won the Urbana 5 Memorial in 2019, the season-opening Frostbuster in 2018 and was a two-time Hogan Memorial winner on the Vinton oval.

Dallon Murty continued his winning ways in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Albert Auto Service. From the second row, Murty chased Leah Wroten and Jason Doyle before taking command a few laps into that 15-lapper.

Murty ran away to score the $750 win, his seventh victory of the season in Vinton, ahead of Doyle, Wroten, Jay Schmidt and Riley Hanson.

Kaden Reynolds chased point leader Joren Fisher around the top side of the fast quarter-mile throughout much of the 15-lapper for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Kwik Star.

With only a handful of laps remaining, Reynolds slid to the inside of Fisher entering turn three and emerged from turn four with the lead. He pulled away to a track-leading eighth victory this season and a $500 winner’s share.

Fisher came home second ahead of Jacob Floyd, who nipped Matt Brown for third. Jeremiah Andrews completed the top five.

Tony Olson earned his third straight win and sixth of the season in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Christie Door Company.

From the top groove, Olson raced into contention from the third row while Ben Chapman paced the field from the low groove. In the waning laps, Olson survived a battle with Chapman and then a hard-charging Kyle Olson to take the checkers and $1,000 prize. Brett Thomas, Brandon Tharp, Robert Patava and Troy Burkhart rounded out the top five in the 15-lapper.

Lukas Rick ended Ashley Reuman’s two-race winning streak in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts presented by Auto Crafters to take the $300 payday.

Rick was pestered throughout the 12-lapper by Cristian Grady, who settled for runner-up honors. Logan Clausen ran a close third ahead of Reuman and Korey Lana.

Dave Eberle earned his second win at The Bullring this season and pocketed $500 for his efforts in a special appearance by the Legends Direct Legends cars.

Eberle worked past pole-sitter Dave Comer a few laps into the 20-lapper, then pulled away to the impressive win ahead of Brett Moffitt. Eric Blumer, Jacob Tiegen and Mike Gilbert ran third through fifth, respectively.

Weekly racing resumes next Sunday, August 8, at The Bullring and will be joined by the Late Models in their final appearance of the season.
